I just want to quickly try and clear up some of the issues raised in previous topics regarding our stance on the displaying of advertisements.

When any user views a page of the forum our bandwidth is used. When any user posts a message or sends a PM our disk space is used. These things cost money to provide.

These things are paid for by a single set of adverts on each page (unlike other providers who have more than that). A set of adverts which the admin can decide where to place (via the Ad-Free Setting page) to best suit their forum. I find the most discreet location is at the very top of the page above the welcome table.

However when these adverts are not shown at all we receive 0 income. Even if you do not click the ads but they are still shown then we will receive a minute amount of income that is enough to cover the costs of your page view.

This is why we ask users to allow google adsense ads to be shown on our forums. All we do is ask, there's no way for us to force you to display them or click on them. But if nobody displayed any ads then there would be no vForums and no more great features.
